Queensland LNP donations from coal seam gas companies

Senate inquiry told of coal seam gas donations to LNP

Joshua Robertson reports in The Guardian Australia (22.11.14) that the Senate inquiry into the Queensland government has heard from the ‘Lock the Gate’ movement that the Liberal National Party ‘took CSG donations despite Coalition senators’ denials’.

In addition, ‘Lock the Gate’ president, Drew Hutton, during his evidence, told the Inquiry that ‘despite pastoralists, indigenous custodians and environmentalists being united in support for “wild rivers” laws applying to the Cooper Basin in the state’s west, the Newman government had rescinded them because of “an enormous amount of shale gas” in the area.
