Dr Todhunter is the research and policy officer with the Queensland Nurses' Union, a position she has held since 2008. Prior to this she worked as a general staff member and academic at Griffith University. Her PhD was awarded by Griffith University in 2007 for her thesis titled 'Arbitration in Constraint: The Role of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission in the Award Simplification Test Case'. She has a Masters of Administration (Griffith, 1994) - thesis titled 'Award Restructuring in Telstra's Operated Assisted Services - What Gains for Women?' and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland (1990). Her research interests are employment regulation theory and practice, industrial democracy and union governance.
