Researchers

Our Research Associates include a large panel of academic researchers with expertise in diverse areas of public policy, drawn from across several universities in Queensland and beyond. Many researchers also have significant experience inside the public service.

These experts can offer an additional source of policy advice for those developing or commenting on public policy in Queensland. All members, their research fields, and their contact details, are listed below.

Specialisations / Bio

have worked in education most of her career, initially as a teacher, in this country and others, as a feminist activist in a teachers’ union, as a senior manager in public policy positions, as the chair or member of a range of government boards and expert advisory bodies at the state and national levels, as a researcher, a consultant, and for almost a decade as a pro vice chancellor in a university. Most of this has been in Australia with some excursions internationally, the majority in South Australia but also some years in Queensland and most recently in Tasmania where I now live and work.

Much of this work has been at the forefront of social, educational, industrial and policy change aimed at the achievement of greater equality of educational access and outcomes as well gender equity in our public and private lives, emphases also reflected in my research, publications and consultancies. I was awarded a Centenary Medal for my contribution to education and an honorary doctorate for my work in educational equity.
