Government threats on Fitzgerald

The Brisbane Times (3.8.14) reports that retired judge Tony Fitzgerald says members of the Newman government have threatened to keep attacking him in the media over his criticism of Queensland’s new chief justice.  Mr Fitzgerald, chair of the 1989 Fitzgerald Inquiry into corruption in Queensland, and a former Federal Court and Supreme Court judge, ‘says the government and News Corporation have launched a “sustained attack” on the independence of the judiciary.’
