Integrity and political donations

‘Is it fair that property developers or miners can pay large sums of money to directly lobby government ministers, when objectors are unable to afford to put their point of view?  Do political donations help to purchase favourable outcomes for the donors?  Issues of integrity and fairness of governance emerged in the recent Queensland election but, as ICAC revelations in NSW show, these matters transcend state borders.  How do we raise the bar on government accountability?’
