Queensland police and the inquiry into Dr Ken Levy

The ABC News (26.2.15) reports that Independent MP Peter Wellington has condemned the duration of a police investigation into the acting head of Queensland’s Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) over allegations he misled Parliament.

‘Early last year, police began investigating whether Ken Levy lied to the Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Committee (PCCC) in 2013 about his contact with the Government before writing an opinion piece in support of anti-bikie laws.

‘Lying to Parliament is a criminal offence in Queensland.

‘Mr Wellington said it was “absolutely ridiculous” for the Queensland Police Service (QPS) to be saying they had not finished their investigation.’
