Crime and Corruption Commission deadlock over

The Brisbane Times (22.7.15) reports on the resolution of the deadlock over the Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Commision Committee’s approval over the Government’s nominee for the head of the CCC:

‘Lawyer Alan MacSporran is expected to be named as head of Queensland’s corruption watchdog this week.

‘A spokesman from Attorney-General Yvette D’Ath’s office has confirmed Labor’s nomination for the Crime and Corruption Commission chair, which is widely understood to be Mr MacSporran, will go before the Executive Council on Thursday for approval.

‘Ms D’Ath’s office would not confirm reports that Mt Isa MP Robbie Katter was substituted into the Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Committee to boost the numbers needed to endorse the nomination.’
