Climate sceptic Liberal MPs accept briefing by climate scientists

‘Two climate sceptic MPs have accepted an offer from a group of scientists for a briefing ahead of the release of Australia’s post-2020 emissions targets. But the West Australian backbenchers Dennis Jensen and Chris Back insist they want a parliamentary inquiry before emission reductions are decided.

‘The letter of offer was sent by 13 scientists, led by Professor Ove Hoegh-Guldberg from the University of Queensland’s Global Change Institute. Signatories included Professor Will Steffen from the Australian National University and Professor Lesley Hughes from Macquarie University.’
