‘Fact Check’ on the cost of coal-fired vs wind power

This ‘Fact Check’ by Dylan McConnell tests various claims about the high cost of wind-generated power as against coal-generated power.  It cites figures from the Productivity Commission to demonstrate its case.

It also probes claims about the percentage of Australia’s energy that comes from coal-fired power, and examines claims that feeding renewable energy into the grid drives electricity price through the roof, suggesting that this argument runs counter to modelling commissioned by the government.
