Fossil fuel companies – decades of disinformation on climate change

The US Union of Concerned Scientists has provided a report on climate change and US fossil fuel companies.

‘At the (US) federal level, the campaigns described in this report have sought to block legislative action that would have addressed the worst consequences of climate change. At the state level, the deceptive tactics of companies like BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Peabody Energy, and Shell—individually and collectively through groups like ALEC and WSPA—have sought to weaken, delay, and defeat climate-related policies. These rear-guard efforts have exacerbated the problem of climate change and likely slowed much-needed climate action.’
