Why the renewable energy target should be raised

Recent UNSW modelling highlights that not only will renewable energy generation reduce greenhouse emissions, but it can also reduce the risks associated with high wholesale electricity costs from uncertain future gas price and carbon pricing policies here in Australia and Internationally.  Peerapat Vithayasrichareon, Jenny Riesz and Iain MacGill describe the implications of the modelling in The Conversation (11.7.14).
