‘Polite’ enthusiasm for Newman at LNP launch

Kristian Silva (Brisbane Times, 19.1.15) describes the LNP campaign launch: ‘Mr Newman used his campaign speech to highlight the LNP’s achievements during the last three years – citing changes in the health, education and transport systems. The economy was stronger, he said, and there were more jobs. He also outlined five new election promises, relating to water prices, drivers licences for young people, research funding, education and water prices. Mr Newman mentioned the word “strong”, or variations of it, more than 30 times.’
