Springborg’s shocking start to 2016

John Harrison comments in the Brisbane Times (6.3.16) on how Lawrence Spingborg’s leadership of the LNP Opposition has suffered a number of recent blows.

‘Despite what the opinion polls say, state Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg’s start to 2016 has been a shocker.

‘Given the Palaszczuk government does not have a majority on the floor of the Legislative Assembly the number of LNP MPs jumping ship is surprising, and a huge vote of no confidence in Springborg, and in his chance of returning the LNP to power next time.

‘Jeff Seeney, slighted that his stellar talent is unrecognised by Springborg, is nominating for Wide Bay, And John McVeigh is nominating in Groom, one of two Queensland federal electorates in which Nick Xenophon is running a House of Reps candidate.

‘But Lawrence’s litany of woes doesn’t stop there.’
