Wellington: will support the ALP (5.2.15)

The only Liberal National Party member “authorised” by the party to speak to the crossbench says there is “a long way to go” before either major party could claim government. Lawrence Springborg, who made a point of mentioning his authorisation before responding to Peter Wellington’s announcement he would be supporting the Labor Party in its attempts to form government following Saturday’s election, said there was still “no clear result”.

“I was authorised by the organisation the other day to try to reach proposals and principles which may be acceptable to my parliamentary colleagues,” he said. (Amy Remeikis Brisbane Times, 5.2.15).
