‘Sale you have when you’re not having a sale’

TJRyan Foundation Board Member, Professor John Quiggin, is quoted in the Brisbane Times (18.9.14) as saying that the Queensland government’s plan to privatise the electricity network through long-term leases will have no benefit for consumers: ‘There is no crisis here, any more than there is at the federal level. This is just standard claim that is routinely made to justify privatisation when it should be depended on its own merits as policy.’
