Digging up the facts about the Executive Building

Madonna King discusses the future of the Executive Building (Brisbane Times, 12.3.15), concluding:

‘It’s not unknown for older buildings to be refurbished to be more attractive and efficient. In fact, the state government has buildings of similar vintage where that has happened – for example the Justice Building further down George Street.

‘Can the casino developers come up with a plan that might allow it to stay intact, retaining value for Queenslanders? Or is it just too late? The Premier is right to ask the question but she should decide purely on what is best for us, not what matches the political argument she ran in opposition to highlight what appeared to be a folly.’
