Research Report 5: Key policy issues in Vocational Education and Training

‘There clearly needs to be a significant rethink of the current Vocational Education and Training policies, to ensure the sector meets the needs, not of the status quo, but of a rapidly changing economy.  It should also be designed to ensure the sector’s learners, particularly the current generation of young people who fall into the age group most at risk of long-term unemployment, have the opportunity to find quality jobs – not only for today, but also to be able to adapt to the workforce of the future.’  Report by TJRyan Research Associate, Peter Henneken AM.
