A gradual eclipse of the Sunshine State?

ABC’s Background Briefing 27.7.14 drew parallels between the current LNP government and the Joh Bjelke-Petersen era.  The wide-ranging interviews raised new concerns about dismantling the Fitzgerald reforms, including some of those relating to police.  Dr Terry Goldsworthy suggests that normal operational police matters are being taken over as a political narrative by politicians.  ‘You should leave the police separate, let them do their job and the politics [should] stay out of it’.
