Adani – opposition ‘ideological’ or evidence-based?

Lenore Taylor writes in The Guardian (8.10.16) that ‘Federal resources minister Matt Canavan says “legal delays” to the mine have cost Queensland $3.9bn, but this is based on crative interpretion of the numbers.’

She concludes her analysis:

‘The minister, and the courts to date, say if Carmichael doesn’t export the coal to India someone else will, an argument that could be used by every country to continue with business as usual.

‘The consequences of that, sadly, really would be an unprecedented story.’
