Brisbane LNP MP Teresa Gambaro to quit politics

Cameron Atfield reports in the Brisbane Times (9.3.16) on Brisbane federal MP, Teresa Gambaro’s, decision to retire from politics at the upcoming federal election.

‘Federal Queensland MP Teresa Gambaro has announced she will not recontest her seat of Brisbane.

‘Ms Gambaro, a Liberal National Party MP, said she had come to the decision “after much consideration” about ending her political career.

‘… The Labor Party has preselected serving army major Pat O’Neill to contest Brisbane.

‘Ms Gambaro was the fourth Queensland LNP MP to announce his or her retirement at the next election, following Ian Macfarlane, Warren Truss and Mal Brough’s announcements they would not recontest their seats.’
