G20 – Brisbane to be a ‘ghost town’?

The Lord Mayor of Brisbane is urging all residents to stay put for the G20 summit to prevent the city from becoming a ‘ghost town’. ‘Lord Mayor Graham Quirk is concerned that many people will be leaving the city for the weekend to avoid inconvenience. He says it is vitally important for Brisbanites to remain about, to ensure a good image of the city is presented to visiting journalists.’ (612 ABC 30.10.14)
